This service refers to the use of a GPS device. The Global Positioning System (GPS), i.e. the Global Positioning System (or positioning or geolocation), is a global positioning system for a stationary or moving user, which can provide accurate information on the position of a point, its altitude, speed and direction of movement. Also, in combination with special mapping software, this information can be displayed graphically. GPS is a complex system developed by the US military that helps us locate our position on earth. Its operation is based on a constellation of Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites that continuously transmit radio waves to earth. Initially, the system was designed exclusively for military use and was later allowed to be used by civilians as well. It works continuously in all weather conditions, anywhere on earth and can be in the form of a box or clock, it includes a mobile phone (GSM) circuit, a geographic positioning system (GPS) and a panic button. Recently and under specific terms and conditions, the Personal Data Protection Authority approved with its decision number 112/2012 the use of GPS (geolocation) devices in vulnerable groups of the population (elderly, elderly, Alzheimer’s patients) as well as in minor children, through subscription. The use of a GPS tracking system is only for legitimate purposes and the use of this service for illegitimate reasons is prohibited (based on Law 3206/2003, Official Gazette 298/A/23.12.2003). Our office, following the developments of technology but also for the immediate response to critical situations, has the most modern GPS devices, which are monitored by computer in real time. These devices are also available for rent.
